“I’ll Fly Away” is a hymn written in 1929 by Albert E. Brumley and published in 1932.
It is referred to as the most published gospel song in history. This song was adopted into many church hymnals. I’ll Fly Away is also a common tune at Bluegrass Jams and is often performed at funerals, including jazz funerals in the New Orleans tradition.
